7-7-2005        New electricity measures to deliver better service to WA customers
Western Australians will see improved electricity supplies under a new code released by Energy Minister Alan Carpenter today.
Mr Carpenter said the Electricity Industry (Network Quality and Reliability of Supply) Code 2005, effective from January 1 next year, would require WA's electricity suppliers to meet more stringent standards of electricity reliability and quality.

Energy Minister Alan Carpenter has today announced a new Energy Ombudsman to safeguard the interests of nearly 1.4million Western Australian electricity and gas customers.
Mr Carpenter said the major consumer protection measure reflected the Gallop Government's commitment to ensuring that the interests of the people of WA were protected and promoted in the reformed electricity and gas markets.

Energy Minister Alan Carpenter has today outlined new opportunities for investment in the electricity industry to meet the rising energy needs of Western Australia.

Energy Minister Alan Carpenter has congratulated the State Opposition for agreeing to support the Government's plan to reform Western Power.
